Custom Parts Online can supply custom parts made by CNC Milling or Normal Milling CNC milling (or VMC / HMC milling) is a process where material is removed from a stock shape in metal (or rigid plastic) by a cutting tool which moves in all three axis (x,y and z) to achieve the desired cut shape. Material is usually removed either by the face or the side of the cutting tool. Cutting tools of various profiles/shapes are available including square, rounded, and angled. A wide variety of part shapes and geometries are possible. Features: Accurate machining, easy repeatability of designs, can cut both metals and plastics, suitable for short runs, not suitable for very thin/long parts that may deform during machining. Typical parts: Most 3 dimensional parts. Tolerances can be specified per your needs on drawings. By default we will follow tolerances per ISO 2768. (Find tolerance info here.) CNC Turning | CNC Lathe Turning | CNC Turning Machines

Custom Parts Online offers CNC turned and manually turned parts. CNC Turning is a process where round shaped parts are made by turning round shaped stock fixed on an axis and applying a cutter towards the rotating stock. The Computer Numeric Control program derived for a given component makes the repeatability accurate and the tolerance between the first and the nth part remain the same. Generally a Length:Diameter ratio of 2:1 gives excellent results. Features: Accurate machining, contoured round-shaped parts made without casting/molding, easy repeatability, can machine metals and plastics, suitable for short runs, not recommended for Length:Diameter ratio higher than 7:1. Typical parts: Most 3 dimensional parts basically of round profile. Tolerances can be specified per your needs on drawings. By default we will follow tolerances per ISO 2768. Screw Machining or Traub

Custom Parts Online can make custom parts by Screw machining or Traub Process. Screw machining or Traub is a process where screws and other smaller diameter - turned parts are produced in high volumes at relatively low-costs. Screw machine turns, faces, threads, then partitions the part, and advances the stock to machine the next part. Screw machines have single spindle or multiple spindles. A single-spindle machine uses cross slides that come into position to perform each operation in turn. A multi-spindle machine can simultaneously perform multiple operations. Features: Accurate machining, very high volumes at low costs, easy repeatability of designs, can cut both metals and plastics, not suitable for short runs. Gear Hobbing Machines | Gear Cutting Tools

Custom Parts Online can supply custom parts made of Gear Hobbing or Gear Cutting. Gear hobbing is a special form of milling process for cutting spur gears of involute form. It forms the gear through a generating process by rotating the gear blank and the cutter at the same time with a fixed gearing ratio between cutter and blank. The cutter has a profile given in cross section by the fundamental rack for the gear tooth profile and is in the form of a helix. The helix has a number of cuts parallel to the axis to form the cutting teeth with suitably relieved profile. Custom Parts Online can supply custom parts made of Spark Erosion. EDM Spark erosion is a process where two electrodes are in close proximity in a dielectric liquid, and the application of a voltage pulse produces a spark discharge between them, resulting in a small amount of material removal from both electrodes. Pulsed application of the voltage at discharge energies in the range of micro-Joules results in continuous material removal process known as micro-electro-discharge machining (micro-EDM). Features: Accurate machining, no burrs, can cut thicker metal sheets, suitable for short runs. EDM drilling | Preci- Hole Drilling | Deep Hole Drilling | Gun Drilling

Custom Parts online can supply custom parts made of EDM Drilling EDM Drilling has the same principle as electro discharge erosion where in the current passed is good enough to remove the material from the point of drilling. Minimum size of 0.04 mm to maximum 1.0 mm can be done through EDM drilling. Precihole drilling / Deep hole drilling (gun drilling) is a specialized process for drilling very deep holes in metal parts. A coolant is pumped at high pressure into the cutting zone through a hole in the tool, and takes out the chips and the heat generated from the drilling operation. The burnishing surface of the drill ensures circularity and good surface finish of the drilled hole. Features: Custom tooling needed, precise hole dimensions and finish, only for metals, suitable normally for long runs (short runs possible in certain cases). Typical applications: Deep hole drilling in gun barrels, nozzles, crank shafts, etc., with 0.03 to 0.07 mm tolerance on hole diameter. Range: 3 to 16 mm diameter x depth upto 100 to 200 times diameter.
